Northern Hope is a small boutique winery, established in 2017 by Richard and Samantha Edwards. We're located in Lancefield, Macedon ranges, 80km's North of Melbourne with an elevation of 750metres. We're incredibly passionate about crafting a selection of wines that will truly reflect the soils and climate of the Macedon Ranges. Our Macedon Ranges vineyard produces Pinot Noir with a plan to plant more grape varieties in the near future. We look forward to sharing our wines and property with you.
Our latest release... Syrah 2021After 18 months of aging in barrels, and a further 6 months resting in bottle our 2021 Syrah has finally been released. This limited edition batch, consisting of only 575 liters, was sourced from organically farmed vineyard in Landsborough, located in the Pyrenees region. The wine was fermented with wild yeast and cold soaked in open vats for 5 days, then aged in 2-year-old French oak barrels.
This Syrah boasts a medium red hue, perfect clarity with aromas of savoury, dusty bitter dark chocolate and cherry pith. The tannins are firm yet well-integrated, providing a long and elegant finish. Due to the limited quantity, we encourage you to secure your order as soon as possible. Located 750 meters above sea level in the cool climate region of the Macedon Ranges, our vineyard benefits from the unique combination of elevation, soil, and climate. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process, allowing the grapes to develop complex flavors and aromas, while still maintaining their acidity and freshness. The result is wines that are elegant, refined, and express the true character of the land.
